YouTube Launches in 9 countries - Are we going to get one for India?
Earlier today YouTube announced local versions in nine countries. They claim that this gives localized home pages and contents. It includes country specific ratings and comments. Read the full story here.
However the question that came to my mind immediately is that, How about for India? Are there any plans of rolling out an Indian version of YouTube. Especially look at the following statement in the YouTube announcement
“For those not included in this first rollout, don’t despair, we have plans in the works to launch in many more countries in the near future.”
This definitely proves that YouTube is looking to release more localized versions of it. I could definitely say that the news of YouTube rolling out a localized version for India would bother many of the clones that are created in India.
